Exploring the shapes and silhouettes of a posture and of groups of people and their inter-connecting shadows provides interesting contrasts and areas to draw focus on.

Pattern and texture is an important part of my figurative work, and influenced by my textile background and mums love of quilting, I use material collage alongside other mixed media creating layers of varying areas of pattern, shapes and clear space.
